Who We Are

The main focus of my wood working is making handmade tobacco pipes. Although it has become a passion it is not my full time job, it is my hobby. This being said I can’t produce items like a factory or full time pipe maker is able to. This has both its advantages and disadvantages. It doesn’t allow me to produce tobacco pipes at a rate that I would like, but it does give me ample time to be able to focus on the piece I have at hand and focus more on the quality of the piece I’m making. I will always prioritize a piece coming out to my standards rather than mass producing items. If a piece doesn’t meet my standards and satisfaction it doesn’t leave my work shop.

Quality will always outweigh quantity.

Along with the time involved is the many tools that come with making tobacco pipes, which has opened doors for me to expand and make other items such as rolling pins, tobacco pipe tampers and rings.

I would have to say I got bit by the wood working bug in my woodshop class during high school. After high school I was never heavily involved in wood working, but I always had the longing to create more. In 2018 after purchasing my first tobacco pipe I remember looking at it and thinking to myself how easy it would be to create one of my own. How wrong I was. The intricacy, detail, and time involved in making a quality tobacco pipe is insane. But at the same time extremely satisfying after you achieve your vision.

One particular side of woodworking I thoroughly enjoy is the freedom to create something completely custom or something that is my own vision and style. There I get to express how I think the piece should be. When a customer tells me particular details they want and let me have free rein, that is the best part, creating something they’ll love. And knowing they’ll be able to enjoy my creation for years to come.
